ESG & Sustainable Business
We support companies in two major focus areas – sustainability and ESG reporting and sustainability strategy advisory. We can help you build your ESG report from the ground up or support various stages of your journey. GHG Emissions Management
MWA supports a wide range of carbon management activities related to emissions inventories, compliance planning & reporting, investment strategies, and beyond compliance activities, such as policy scenario analysis and carbon intensity calculations. We have been closely involved with Provincial and Federal governments on the writing of new climate regulations and the development of public funding programs. We have built custom emissions calculators for all emissions scopes with significant growth in Scope 3 emissions quantification. Further, we build decarbonization strategies that de-risk capital investments through economic assessments of technologies available to clients to reduce their emissions profile. Research & Innovation
Our research and innovation division is multi-faceted. We work with governments and industry groups to complete critical analysis of policy and regulatory impacts, along with techno-economic analysis of decarbonization pathways under various policy scenarios. We have completed several life cycle models specific to natural gas production in Canada (our models are used by governments and industry alike). Finally, we design and participate in several programs that are focused on the development and deployment of methane emissions detection, quantification and control technologies. Carbon Markets
Our carbon markets team helps companies develop carbon offset projects throughout the globe, accessing multiple compliance and voluntary carbon markets. We work with companies and project developers to assess the viability of carbon credits for their product or service or project, including the opportunities presented by clean fuel regulations north and south of the border. We provide pricing forecasts along with supply/demand analysis if and when required and available. We bring buyers to the table upon project completion, and we provide support with carbon contracts given our decades of experience in these markets. Finally, we help companies manage their carbon assets, to ensure they are using them in a manner that maximizes the financial (market) and non-financial (ESG) return of the assets.
